History

Early Years in Persia (Iran)

According to the investigations and researches of the Arab historians, Salman was born in or around the year 568 A.D., in a small town in Persia called Jiyye. The modern city of Isfahan stands on the site of Jiyye. Incidentally, Salman was not the name given to him at his birth. His Persian name was Rozeba. Many years later when he became a Muslim, his master, Muhammed Mustafa, the Messenger of Allah (May Allah bless him and his Ahlul-Bayt), changed his name to Salman. During the years when he was at the court of his master, Muhammed Mustafa, his friends sometimes, also addressed him, as Abu Abdullah (the father of Abdullah).

Words of Wisdom of Imam al-Hassan AlMujtaba (A.S.)

PDFPrintE-mail

Imam Hassan AlMujtaba (A.S.)

Imam Al-Hasan (peace be upon him) said:

O people, he who advises for God’s sake and betakes His sayings as guidance will surely be led to the most upright way and God will grant him success to the right guidance and will direct him to the best. The disciple of God is certainly secured and preserved while His enemy is surely fearful and disappointed. Be cautious of God by very much mention of Him, fear Him by means of God-fearing, and approach to Him through obedience to Him, for He is surely near and replying.

General

My journey through this life observes each day and each night
I await to see its end before my very sight
As I embrace my sorrows I feel nothing but remorse
For I too have fallen weak to the pretence of this world
People of this land, they come and they go

Tragedy of Karbala

3. Sacrificing his property

The chief of the nobles sacrificed all his property and whatever he possessed in the path of Quran and the way of religion. For the Umayyad beasts moved to the camps of His Eminence after his martyrdom and plundered whatever they could find over there. So much so that even sheets and head coverings were not left for the ladies.

The plunderers took away these also. In this way they exhibited a decadent behavior and their conscience which had been completely transmogrified.
