Regret has filled my heart,
thinking of all my deeds.
How could I smile O' Master,
when you were in such pain ? Lo, shame be on me!
is this the tradition of servanthood ?
I ask myself,
the velvet cloak of night;
with the sparkling jewels,
pray for you, as they twinkle.
And, I ... who call myself majnoon,
spend my night deeply intoxicated;
as cuddled I lay on bed.
How sleep enters my eye ?
How my soul finds rest ?
when my spirit is away from me!
I - the empty lantern,
lying on the niche,
waiting to be lighted by you.
And you - ' Yousef of Zahra ';
diffusing your rays for me.
Master, they reached me!
Yes, the little parcels of light,
penetrated through my dermis,
and striked the heart.
Master, they warmed my soul.
May I be your ransom;
never abandon me.
You - are a helpline for lost souls like me,
without you Narcissus has no fragrance.
