Ghadir feast in light of Ahadith

By: K. Safavi

A dignified feast

Hazrat Imam Ali ibn-e-Abi Talib (as) said: The Ghadir feast is a day which dignity is great. On this day, blessings fell from heaven; the ranks of those who were eligible to rise was enhanced; God's proofs became clear and manifest; today was the day when religion was perfected; a day fit to take the oath of allegiance.

A great feast

Imam Jafar bin Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) was asked if there is any Eid other than 'Friday', 'Qurban', & 'Fitr'? The Imam peace be on him replied: "Yes, the greatest one! It is a day in which the Prophet (saww) appointed Amir-ul-Momineen Hazrat Ali ibn-e-Abi Talib (as) as his successor & said: 'Whoever I am his master, then Ali is his master.'"

A felicitous feast

Hazrat Imam Jafar bin Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: By God if people knew the real virtue of the Ghadir Khum feast, the angels would shake hand with them ten times a day and what the God would grant to them could not be counted.

A refulgent feast

Hazrat Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar bin Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: Ghadir Khum feast in the midst of Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha and Friday is like the moon amid the stars.

One of the four divine feasts

Imam Jafar bin Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: On the Day of Resurrection, four days will be summoned before God like the bride who hurries into the wedding chamber. These are Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Adha, Friday and Ghadir Khum feast.

A heavenly feast

Hazrat Imam Ali bin Mousa Al-Reza (as) said: My father told me from his father Hazrat Imam Jafar bin Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) that the Ghadir feast is much more famous in heaven than on Earth.
