Background of Eid-e-Zahra
Congratulations and Eid
Mubarak to the lovers of the Ahlul-bayt (as).
After a long period of mourning starting from 1st Muharram, the
Ahlul-bayt (as) are smiling today. It is time for Tabarra (keeping away
/ cursing enemies of Ahlul-bayt). It is a time when we change the
colours of clothing from black to bright colours. It is time of joy and
celebration. Milad-un-Nabi is also coming up soon.
Rasulullah (saww) said, "Train your children in three things, the love
of your Prophet, the love of his progeny i.e. Ahlul-bayt, and the
recitation of the Quran"
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as) said, "The best means by which servants can
obtain nearness to Allah, Mighty and Glorious, is the obedience of
Allah, the obedience of his messenger, and the obedience of those
charged with (spiritual ) authority." Then, he added; " The love of us
(Ahlul-bayt) is Faith (Iman) and the hatred for us in infidelity (kufr).
After years of crying for Imam Husain (as) and his companions (as), it
was this time of the year when Imam Ali bin Husain Zainul Abideen (as)
had a smile on his face. He received the good news that the great
companion and true Shia, Al-Mukhtar al-Thaqafy (as) has taken revenge
for the Ahlul-bayt (as) and killed off many of the criminals who
tortured the Ahlul-bayt (as) in Kerbala. Today we salute this great
companion for his service to the true Islam.
This was the day, in Rabi'a al-Awwal, when the rascal Omar ibn Sa'ad ibn
abi Waqqaas [la], the killer of Imam Hussain (as) was killed by Hazrat
Mukhtar (as) This was the wretched criminal who was the first one to
shoot an arrow towards Imam Hussain (as) on the 9th of Muharram 61 A.H.
thus formally starting the war against Imam Hussain (as) ! And he
proclaimed, "
O people of Kufa and Shaam, be witness hereto on the Day of Judgment,
that I am the one who is the first to shoot an arrow at Hussain " ! And
saying this, he shot the arrow! Later, Imam Hussain (as) told them (the
army of Yezid whose commander was this Omar ibn Sa'ad ibn abi Waqqaas
[la]) after delivering an eye-opening Khutba, that he needs to have a
night for prayers !
Al-Mukhtar announced the aims of his revolution in Masjid-e-Kufa, "I'll
conform to Allah's Book and to His Apostle's Sunnah. I'll take the
revenge on Imam Husain's killers. I'll fight against those who have
broken Allah's laws. I'll defend the weak against the strong"
It is only the lucky ones who have the opportunity to celebrate this
Eid! This was the day, when for the first time after the massacre of his
father Imam Hussain (as) & his companions, that the 4th Imam (as)
smiled! Is this not enough an excuse to celebrate ? For, our joys are
with the joys of Ma'soomeen (as) and our grief and sorrows are for them
alone !
Imam Jaffer as-Sadiq (as) said; "Verily there are various degrees of
serving Allah, but affection (and cordial inclination) for us,
Ahlul-bayt, is the highest one."
Imam Jaffer as-Sadiq (as) said, "He who is not able to do any good unto
us (Ahlul-bayt) then he may do good to our pious adherents; and he who
is not able to visit us, he may visit our righteous followers by which
the reward of visiting us (pilgrimage) will be recorded for him."
We also take this day as an opportunity to curse all the enemies of the
Ahlul-bayt (as), includig the Najis Khalips (la), the Umayyads (la), and
Abbasids (la), and all those who have explicit and implicit hatred and
jealousy from Imam Ali (as) and his Wilayat. When we go to worship in
Hajj, we perform the tawaf of the Holy Ka'ba and worship Allah (swt),
and we are also required to stone the symbolic satans in Mina etc.
Similarly, we love the Ahlul-bayt (as), and we take this wonderful
opportunity of Eid-al-Zahra to send our curses to the enemies of the
Ahlul-bayt (as) and all those who continue to bering them hardship to
this day, be it by the gun, the speech, or the pen (keyboard)!
In many corners of the Shia world, Eid-e-Zehra has a deeper meaning
because we celebrate the killing of the 2nd najis one (la) who
wrongfully became caliph. Although the date does not correspond to 9th
Rabi-ul-Awal, the lovers of the Ahlul-bayt (as) cannot help it but be
overjoyed on hearing the death of the one of came to burn the house of
Bibi Fatima Zahra (as), the one who insulted the Prophet (saww) on his
deathbed, the ones who displeased Bibi Fatima (sa) and the ones who she
did not want present in her funeral and who she never forgave, the ones
who changed many sunnahs of the Prophet (saww), the ones who sat on the
chair/throne/position that was for Imam Ali (as), the one who caused the
split in the Ummah, the ones of burnt the hadith of Rasulullah (as), the
ones who commissioned historians to make up fake hadith glorifying
themselves, the ones who concealed the praises and excellencies of Imam
'Ali bin Abu Talib (as)......etc etc.
May Allah's wrath fall on the aforementioned najis one and the one
before him and the one after him and all those who wrongfully sat on the
chair of Caliphate, from amongst the Umayyads (la) and the Abbasids
(la). May Allah's wrath fall on all the (past and present) enemies of
Ahlul-bayt (as) from the time of their crimes till the Day of Judgment,
and also may Allah's wrath fall on all those who were silent and
supportive of these crimes.
Inshallah, we pray that we will prepared and worthy to serve in the
blessed army of Imam-e-Zamana (ajtf).

"Rota huwa shaitan ne kaha lashe fulan par hay hay mere thani Sunta hu
Abu l... ne mara tuje khanjar, hay hay mere thani"
"Mar ghaye mardood, Na Fatiha na durood!"
