We send our condolences to our twelfth Imam and the living Hujjah (Divine Proof), Imam Al-Mahdi (AS), our righteous scholars and Ulama, and to the Muslim World on the death of his eminence, the researcher, Ayatullah Shaikh Muhye Al-Din Al-Mamaqani, who passed away in the holy city of Qum, Tuesday, the sixth of Jamadi Al-Thani, 1429 A.H. (June 10, 2008).

His Name:

Shaikh Muhye Al-Deen son of Shaikh Abdullah son of Shaikh Muhammed Hassan Al-Mamaqani, Mamaqan is a city in the province of Tabriz in Iran.

His Birth:

Shaikh Mamaqani was born in the holy city of Najaf, in the month of Safar, 1341 A.H.

His Studies:

He began his Hawzah studies or studies of the Islamic science in the holy city of Najaf, until he finished Bahth Al-Kharij, which is the highest studies in Islamic reasoning preparing the student to be a Mujtahid, he continued teaching Al-Makasib, Al-Rasa'il, Al-Kifaya, and Sharh Al-Tajreed for years.

He was one of the main trustworthy advisors of the institution of Marji'iyyah of the Late Grand Ayatullah, Imam Sayed Mohsin Al-Hakim.

In 1391 A.H., he moved to Tehran and started teaching Bahth Al-Kharij. After a short while, he moved to the holy city of Qum, he started a research commentary on his father's book, Tanqeeh Al-Maqal, which discusses the authenticity of the narrators of the traditions of Ahlulbayt (A.S.), his research will come to about 75 volumes of which more than 40 have been published.
